A Dragon Quest

As some of you may know, Ásbjorn, who is the son of Chief Ivar, was ordered to travel to Jötunheimr to capture a dragon. Meanwhile, our dark elves in Rathmahen have no idea what their enemies are up to, but when word reaches King Hrothgar of Ásbjorn’s secret quest, he sends out scouts to try to get information.

Some of you may have read the scene in which the dark elf, Ravn, and a few of his comrades stage a surprise attack on the dwarves of the nearby mountains. One of the dark elves who participated in that ambush has been mostly absent from following chapters, but he will reappear in chapter 5, 6, and 7 as the dark elf selected to lead the scouting party into No Man’s Land. Though his part is small, I think it will be nice to see this character developed.

Throst will lead six dark elf warriors north, over the mountains and into the tundra. Among these warriors will be one female, Skade, which should make for a bit of fun in an otherwise tedious task. There’s not much to do but wait and avoid being detected. They’re not going to be happy about what Ásbjorn brings back with him from Jötunheimr.

First off, who am I? My name is Jessica Urquhart. Writing has always been a hobby of mine, which got its start in middle and highschool, when I'd write short stories for the amusement of my friends and classmates. Currently, I'm working on my first book, my one true love of a story I've been saying I would one day write. Well, that day has come. If you'd care to follow my musings on the adventures and hurdles of writing my first fantasy book, then please, read my blog.

    1. I’m eager to finish this book! I need a personal assistant to take all my lucid daydreams and put it all into words, so I don’t have to. This book would have been finished weeks ago if I’d have had that kind of help! Lmao! I swear, I must be averaging 10 words a day. Well, maybe not that bad, but my daily word count is pretty pathetic when you take into consideration how much is played out in my mind. There shouldn’t be this much resistance to typing! 😲
