Shout out to all the creative folk out there!

Are there any artists who’d be interested in doing some artwork and maps for my book? If anyone can manage to capture the imagery from my imagination and put it to paper, I would gladly use it for my book, if I ever get it published. At the very least, I’d post it to my blog with credits to the artist. Maps would be extremely helpful to me in my writing process, as well, and creating maps just isn’t my thing.

First off, who am I? My name is Jessica Urquhart. Writing has always been a hobby of mine, which got its start in middle and highschool, when I'd write short stories for the amusement of my friends and classmates. Currently, I'm working on my first book, my one true love of a story I've been saying I would one day write. Well, that day has come. If you'd care to follow my musings on the adventures and hurdles of writing my first fantasy book, then please, read my blog.

  1. Oh, I wish I could muster enough talent to take on that job. Illustration has always been a passion, especially in my literary world (where I read far more than I write). I still have most of the old nib style ink pens I started with. Most of my life was spent in the old school of physical media. I totally suck at digital art.(well, colorful stick people might be art too) I find Google Earth to be the best map illustrator around. It provides me with very detailed maps to help construct my imagined world. I’ll bet you could zoom around Scandinavia, Scotland, Greenland, Iceland or other northern geographic areas and capture the satellite image screens of places you like. Later, those screens could provide the detail along with your visions to create a stunning map(s). Aidana WillowRaven is an excellent illustrator and she does maps. https://willowraven.weebly.com/maps-and-technical-drawings.html. If you aren’t ready to buy art for your book, don’t worry. She has enough artwork examples to give you ideas about what you might like or not like for your book. It’s a most worthy thing to do and you will get it done. No doubts here.
