Bringing the Tale to Miðgarðr

As stated in my previous post, I have begun weaving a thread that will draw the mortal realm into the story. To do this, I have develop a concept that draws heavily upon some of the most fantastical conspiracy theories — one involving a shadowy ruling elite of supernatural beings.

Now, I do not intend to get carried away with the affairs of Miðgarðr, so my intention is only to set the stage and bequeath it with an aire of credibility. In doing so, a few prominent players on the global sphere have been named, though only in passing.

When I began weaving this thread into the story, it was with only a small scene in mind which would bridge the realms. I decided to go with the flow and see where it led. Well, that took an unexpected — and rather vulgar — turn! Then again, what kind of villain doesn’t engage in acts of debauchery?

It was not my intention to set about writing a raunchy book, but for better or worse, a certain amount sexuality and vulgarity have somehow found their way into the story, nonetheless! I suspect this will not be the last of it.

First off, who am I? My name is Jessica Urquhart. Writing has always been a hobby of mine, which got its start in middle and highschool, when I'd write short stories for the amusement of my friends and classmates. Currently, I'm working on my first book, my one true love of a story I've been saying I would one day write. Well, that day has come. If you'd care to follow my musings on the adventures and hurdles of writing my first fantasy book, then please, read my blog.
